Language Barriers
The negative use in the English language towards most things black, apart from money (in the black) which no doubt comes from the inhuman trade in slaves from Africa, really irritates me; newspaper headlines with ‘Blackmail’ or the journalist who announces tongue in cheek after some death or tragedy that it was a ‘Black day’. Why black, after all white is the colour of death!….Rastafari…
This is the first poem I ever wrote. -One Love-
Give thanks, Rastafari….

The Petrol they say is now lead free
Still stinks if you ask me
▲
The cigarettes you smoke are a joke
Clog up your lungs and make you choke
▼
In the shops the beef is unclean
It has a degree in BSC – if you know what I mean
▲
The lamb is a scam
A bit like spam

The chickens grow up fast, don’t ask-
Fowl play, you might say
▲
As for the pork
Swine fever no joke

Eating the veggies is suicide
For too much pesticide
▲
And everything else
Has Added additives, and plenty of preservatives
It’s enough to make you wanta lay down and take a sedative.

THE BOER NEXT DOOR
♂
You could have knock me down with a feather
Would you believe it, living next door to a Boer
A real live Afrikaan
And me a Jamaican
Needless to say, we didn’t see eye to eye
My music was greeted with thumps and bangs on the wall
My children they couldn’t play out at all
♂
Stone the crow
One night I got so low,
I decided that one of us had to go
♂
In a rage I contemplate,
The force with which one could hate
Without though or hesitation
Filled with anger and grim determination
♂
I went next door to confront the Boer
Picking up something heavy,
I lobbed it through a window
Blind with rage I kicked in the front door
♂
Back to the window and smashed it some more
Violence is not the way- there always a price to pay
But its one they understood
For, the very next day the boring Boers fled
Enough said.

THE TWO TOWERS
●
From way up in the sky
Death rain down from on high
Torpedoed by two jets
Like flaming bats from hell
Two Towers fell
●
High up inside
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
On a stairway to hell
Two towers fell
●
Crashing and burning, Stomach churning
Mangled steel and flying glass
Shooting flames from another blast
An inferno in hell
Two towers fell
●
Plumes of black smoke, to make you choke
Ashes raining down like snow
Awestruck!
The World wanted to know
Who dealt this blow
●
What master plan- dropped this bomb?
This towering inferno- this carnage from hell
Torpedoed by two denizens of hell
Two towers fell.
